Florida Digital Bill of Rights (FDBR)
This page describes your privacy rights under the Florida Digital Bill of Rights (FDBR), which became effective July 1, 2023.

- Commercial Information: Check-in history, promotion redemptions
- Usage Data: App interactions, features used
How We Use Your Data
- Provide check-in services and venue discovery
- Enable Hot Sync friend connections
- Send promotional notifications (Hot Alerts, Hot Drops)
- Generate aggregated, anonymized venue analytics
- Improve app functionality and user experience
We Do NOT:
- ✅ Sell your personal data to third parties
- ✅ Use targeted advertising based on your behavior across websites
- ✅ Track your continuous location (only venue check-ins)
- ✅ Share your email or phone with venues
How to Exercise Your Rights
Submit a Request
Email: privacy@hotspot-us.com
Subject Line: Include "Florida Privacy Request" or "FDBR Request"
Include: Your name, email, username, and specific right you wish to exercise
Verification
We will verify your identity by matching your request to your account email and may request additional verification to prevent fraud.
Response Timeline
- 45 days: We will respond within 45 days
- Extension: May extend by 45 additional days if needed (we will notify you)
- Free: No charge for up to 2 requests per 12-month period
Authorized Agents
You may use an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf. The agent must provide:
- Written authorization signed by you
- Proof of their identity
- You may need to verify your identity directly with us
Appeals Process
If we deny your request, you have the right to appeal:
- Email: privacy@hotspot-us.com with subject line: "FDBR Appeal"
- Include: Your original request details and reason for appeal
- We will respond within 60 days
- If denied again, you may contact the Florida Attorney General
Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your Florida privacy rights. We will not:
- Deny services
- Charge different prices
- Provide lower quality service
