How to Delete Your Account
Option 1: Delete from the App
- Open HotSpot and sign in to your account
- Tap your Profile icon
- Scroll down and tap Account Actions
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm the deletion when prompted
Option 2: Request Deletion by Email
If you are unable to access the app, send an email to privacy@hotspot-us.com from the email address associated with your account with the subject line "Delete My Account". We will process your request within 30 days.
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
- Profile information — name, email, date of birth, preferences
- Check-in history — all venue check-ins and associated activity
- Connect — friend connections and requests
- Notifications — all notification history and acknowledgments
- Promotion redemptions — records of redeemed deals and offers
- Hot Take responses — survey answers and engagement data
What May Be Retained
Certain data may be retained for a limited period as required by law or for legitimate business purposes:
- Transaction records — payment or subscription records as required for tax and accounting compliance (up to 7 years)
- Anonymized analytics — aggregated, non-identifiable usage data that cannot be linked back to you
- Legal obligations — data required to comply with legal proceedings, disputes, or regulatory requirements
Important Notes
- Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
- If you have an active venue subscription, cancel it before deleting your account
- After deletion, you may create a new account with the same email address
