What is HotSync?
HotSync shows you where your friends are when they check in at HotSpot venues. No constant GPS tracking—only check-in locations are shared, so you get the “who’s where” info without sacrificing privacy. Perfect for meeting up when everyone’s already out.
What’s new in 2.0
Faster updates. Check-ins now sync in real time. When a friend checks in, you see it on the map and get a notification (if you’ve enabled them) so you can head over or message them.
Clearer map. The HotSync map has been redesigned: cleaner pins, better labels, and a simpler list view so you can switch between “see everyone on the map” and “see a list of who’s where.”
Smarter notifications. You can choose to be notified when specific friends check in, when anyone in a group checks in, or only when someone’s at a venue you’ve saved. Less noise, more useful alerts.
Privacy unchanged. We still only show check-in locations, not live GPS. You stay in control of who can see your check-ins and can turn HotSync off anytime.
How to use it
Open the HotSync tab, connect with friends in the app, and make sure your notification settings match how you want to be notified. When you or a friend checks in at a venue, everyone in your HotSync circle can see it. No more “where are you?”—just open the app and go.
